Snow On The Sahara

Only tell me that you still want me here
When you wander off out there
To those hills of dust and hard winds that blow
In that dry white ocean alone
Lose out in the desert
ou are lost out in the desert

But to stand with you in a ring of fire
I'll forget the days gone by
I'll protect your body and guard your soul
From mirages in your sight

Lost out in the desert
You are lost out in the desert

If your hopes scatter like the dust across your track
I'll be the moon that shines on your path
The sun may blind our eyes, I'll pray the skies above
For snow to fall on the sahara

Just a wish and i will cover your shoulders
With veils of silk and gold
When the shadows come and darken your heart
Leaving you with regrets so cold

Lost out in the desert
you are lost out in the desert

If your hopes scatter like the dust across your track
I'll be the moon that shines on your path
The sun may blind our eyes, I'll pray the skies above
For snow to fall on the sahara

If that's the only place where you can leave your doubts
I'll hold you up and be your way out
And if we burn away, I'll pray the skies above
For snow to fall on the sahara

Actually , it has actually snowed in the Sahara.... suprised!!! it snowed in the Sahara Desert on February 18, 1979.
Amazing ain't it.. Imagine Snow in the desert , a hot desert I might add.
Somewhat inspiring , an example to the fact that anything can happen ... things sometimes unimaginable can come true..
and there is always a suprise around the next corner ...
The snow fell in Southern Algeria.. the storm lasted for about half and hour , and not suprsingly the snow melted withen a few hours

Anyway it may sound clique it is always good... to dream and expect the inexpected...

the blog,... was offline for about 8hrs due to some technical difficulties..
anyway it is online... now enjoy your read!!!

Have you , ever seen a bomb go off. Have you ever seen , tanks patrol your streets.
Have you , ever seen glass , char on your roads and bloods flowing in your gutter....

I was listening to a radio program on the BBC world service called "The Outlook", a program broadcasted daily.. And today they inteviewed a young Israeli women ,I think she was in her twenties , who survived not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 suicide bombings .. Really quite amazing actually.
But in the end she was (on the surface atleast) quiet unperturbed...
It's Strange what some people living in certain environs get used to , and their self-definition of "normal" is different simply on the basis of things around them if they seem hellish to others.

I'll Give you a example... Actually
on Monday , August 25, 2003 two bombs went off in mumbai ( formerly Bombay) and this I now I felt at the time , in the form of a blog entry ,from my archives

Monday, August 25, 2003

Location : Same
Environment : Tense

Subject-- It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Death and Destruction , shattered glass on the grounds, puddles of blood and the sounds of the raging sea in the background. It's so easy to kill a man , but it's much harder to forgive him. Fear in people eyes , blood on their faces.
Bombs go off everyday in the hearts and minds of men not explosives but of hatred.Hatred has no end.
Hatred has no end.
Hatred is our end .

Heres another link -- about the twin blasts - Mumbai Carnage

But , as days go by ... people forget and normality returns ofcourse things have changed ... or have they really???

Anyway I'm going back to a topic I feel strongly about... outsourcing and India
Recently the The Economist anounced it annual essay contest , the price 10 k $
and the topic Outsourcing or Importing Workers???
interesting , isn't looks how is going to shape up.;.

Last months economist , also carried an article ... which went like :-
Innovative India
Apr 1st 2004
From The Economist print edition

Closing my eyes I see nothing ,
Just a want to see.
Blinded by the sun I see nothing ,
Just a want of darkness.
Blood in my eyes I see red,
Just a want to see green.

Today morning , I woke up to the strange ringing in my ear. It took me a minute to realize it was the phone.
Bee's are but drones of their , DNA . I'm but the drone of society
I walked to the bathroom , clambering slowly , sometimes clipping my toes on the side of intrusive furniture lining my coconut garage , I call home.
African , dessert tribesmen never see their own faces.
I looked up into the mirror wondering , seeing through by black sagging eyes wondering "Have I changed since yesterday."
The answer seems no clearer then yesterday...
Curtains............What use are Curtains??
Slasing handful of water on my dry face , as if to wake my self from illusion of existance I walk to the window..
I part the curtains , as I would part the petals of a fallen flower.

Light fall into my iris , sorry I don't know the plural
Light a strange invention , falls in an concentrated effort to fill by room with it presence.
In the process blinding me ,, My eyes flutter and my long eye lashes come down in the want of darkness.

Confused I stant there... Where's there it's everywhere.
My brains wants to think but ,I hamper it needs ... and I stand there confused .........

I found a great site on the blogger watchlist..
